I’m so excited to share about Karlee and Zac’s gorgeous fall-toned wedding in the Northern Virginia countryside.
The florals Zac and Karlee had designed for their wedding were truly incredible. They stuck to an autumn theme, pulling on lots of sage green and neutral, wheat tones with pops of vibrant blue and orange hues.
I loved how the couple said, “I do,” in front of a giant gold hoop adorned with lush, fall florals. This beautiful archway matched Karlee’s bouquet and the overall rustic, yet elegant feel of the wedding. Even the trees surrounding their outdoor ceremony spot were the perfect colors to complement the theme of their big day.
As Karlee and Zac came back up the aisle as man and wife, their family and friends showered them with confetti, creating some of my favorite photos of the day!

I felt so lucky to get to be a part of Karlee and Zac’s wedding. They are two of the happiest, kindest, and most caring people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Their wedding day totally captured these aspects of their personalities. Throughout the whole day, it was clear that their main priority was that their family and friends enjoyed themselves. It was so sweet!
After the ceremony, the party really got started as guests headed to the reception area and found their seats via an ornate champagne display. Karlee and Zac looked beyond happy the whole time as they laughed, hugged, and danced the night away as newlyweds!
I loved learning more about Karlee and Zac’s history as a couple. It was so cool to hear about how they cultivated such a fun friendship before they ever dated. One fun fact about their relationship is that while in college, Zac promised Karlee’s cousin Jake that he would marry Karlee one day, even though they were just friends at the time. Zac even insisted that Karlee document the deal by taking a photo, so there would be proof of his promise.
Here’s a little more of their story from the bride herself:
“Our paths crossed at Radford University in 2013 where we both found ourselves at home, fulfilling our dreams. Originally from Windsor, England, Zac moved to America to join the rugby team at Radford University. During that time, I was excited to be one step closer to being a licensed special education teacher. While in school, we both joined our respected Greek life organizations and “officially” met after I was chosen as a sweetheart for Zac’s fraternity. Although great friends throughout college, it wasn’t until after Zac graduated and moved to Northern Virginia that we started dating. Fast forward four and a half years: we’re engaged, living in Merrifield and building a life full of copious amounts of love, laughter & adventures together!”
