Garden Chic Inspired Northern Virginia Hillside Wedding | Waterford, VA

A couple in wedding attire holds each and smiles, standing in front of the floral arch they were just married under. Photo by Virginia wedding photographer Kim Branagan.I have definitely been looking forward to sharing these wedding photos on my blog for awhile! Overlooking the hills of Northern Virginia at Blue Hill Farm, Ariel and Brendan’s outdoor, garden chic wedding was absolutely breathtaking.

A breathtaking outdoor ceremony with a very special guest of honor

We started out with Ariel and Brendan’s ceremony overlooking endless, rolling green hills. They got married under this incredible floral archway made of wild greenery and peach and blush toned flowers.

The bride’s family dog, Buddy, was a staple of the day. He was facing some health issues, and the mother of the bride told me that it was his last duty to get Ariel down the aisle. Talk about a tearjerker! We made sure to get tons of photos with him throughout the day, and they ended up being some of Ariel’s favorites.

Next, their reception was held in a beautiful sailcloth tent on the other side of the property. Everything was tastefully decorated in a garden chic way, with lots of greenery and lanterns floating above the dance floor. Throughout the decor, Ariel and Brendan mix and matched patterns that incorporated their favorite blue and peach tones. I loved seeing how they seamlessly combined bold colors and patterns with cascading greenery to create the most romantic garden party setting.

The day was planned and designed by Rachel Rice of The One Moment Events, who seriously goes the extra mile for each of her clients. As a photographer, she is a dream to work with!

Ending the night with a unique parting gift

After sneaking away for some portraits between the ceremony and reception, the bride and groom joined their guests for a night of dancing and fun! At the end of the night, Ariel and Brendan let their guests make their own bouquets to take home from the vibrant wedding florals. I thought that was such a unique parting gift and will make such gorgeous dried flower arrangements. It was neat to see how the whole day was personalized so perfectly for this couple, which I think is exactly how every wedding should be!
