Home Interior Shoot for Parachute Home | Washington, D.C.

Photo of a mid century, boho style bedroom in a Washington D.C. home. The bedding is white linen with a gray throw blanket and gray and cream throw pillow on it, all from Parachute Home, against a light wood headboard. A colorful oriental rug covers the wood floor under the bed. There is a floor to ceiling window in the room, giving lots of natural light to the white colored walls. There is a large green plant on the ground by the window. A small nightstand with a lamp on it is next to the bed. There is a white surfboard on the other side of the nightstand. Photographed by Washington DC commercial and interior photographer Kim Branagan.Looking back on 2019, one of my favorite projects of the year was an interior shoot for Parachute Home, a home goods company based in Los Angeles, California.

What I love about Parachute Home

I love what Parachute Home is all about: making premium quality home goods accessible to consumers at an affordable price. They adhere to strict quality standards for all of their products, such as ensuring none of their products contain toxic chemicals or synthetics. Additionally, they partner with the United Nations to provide malaria-prevention bed nets to those in need.

All this to say, I was so excited when they contacted me to ask if I would photograph a local Washington D.C. home full of their gorgeous products.

A beautiful shoot at a modern, yet boho Washington D.C. home

I teamed up with Kristi Hunter, an amazing interior stylist, to photograph an absolutely charming U Street home. Hillary, the owner of the home, actually splits her time between D.C. and Bali throughout the year. Her home has a minimalist, modern aesthetic with a touch of a Southern California, laid back vibe.

Parachute Home’s products were the perfect fit for Hillary’s home. The neutral blue, gray, and cream tones of the textiles enhanced the home’s clean, modern feel, while the various patterns and textures were a fun little way to add personality to the look. Plus, from the bedding to the hand towels, all of Parachute Home’s products were so comfortable and soft to the touch! The way everything came together to fuse minimalism with a more bohemian, beach-y feel was very cool to see.

Looking forward to more interior photoshoots in 2020

I love photographing interiors, because each home or space is so different and tells the unique story of the people who live in it. I’m excited to expand this area of my business and have some fun projects in store for 2020…stay tuned!
