I had a great time photographing Emily and Brett’s fall engagement session in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Their infectious playfulness and sweet chemistry paired with the sophisticated backdrop of Old Town made this shoot so fun.
Like most couples I work with, Emily and Brett started out by talking about how they were a little jittery because they felt like they were awkward in front of the camera. After a few minutes though, they were totally relaxed and laughing with each other. One of my favorite parts of the shoot was when they grabbed hands and danced with each other. I absolutely loved getting to capture that cute and playful moment!
The day of Emily and Brett’s engagement session was one of the first days of fall where the weather was really starting to get colder, so it was such gorgeous time to walk through historic Old Town. The classic look of Old Town, such as the beautiful brick pathways, matched perfectly with Emily and Brett’s dapper style.
Also, I was so excited about the greenery in the area. The ivy-covered brick walkways and buildings, potted flowers on window sills, and the lush trees that hadn’t quite turned to autumn colors yet added to the romantic feel of this shoot.
I may have just spent a small amount of time with Emily and Brett, but I could tell they were truly best friends. These two were so clearly in love and enjoyed being together that it was impossible not to have a good time with them. I know their wedding day is going to be full of joy and more of the same love and fun I saw between them!
